In June 2010, ACANA began offering ongoing free health care screenings for African immigrants. The program is in collaboration with the Philadelphia Department of Health, African Diaspora Health Initiatives. The program provides health screening free of charge to all African Immigrants residents in the City of Philadelphia. Immunization to African immigrants seeking United States citizenship has been included into the program. In its last programmatic year 2011, the program served over 150 immigrants.
ACANA’s free health screening program has continued to expand and and is looking towards also offering free screenings for Hepatitis C.
